Hi, I’m Andrew.

I specialize in MacBook repair, particularly screen, battery, liquid damage and logic board repairs. Many of my customers have been to Apple and been told [by people that dont repair electronics] they need a new logic board or a new MacBook but I just repair it anyway.

When you contact UK Mac Repair, you’re speaking directly with the person who will diagnose and repair your MacBook.

I’ve been an electronic engineer, a software developer, a commercial pilot and I’m now an electronic engineer again.

What Happens Next?

1. Submit a Form

You fill in any form on any page on the website and this tells me the model number, the problem and your contact details.

You then receive a confirmation email including my phone number, email and directions on how to drop off your device.

If its a mail-in request then you also receive labelling instructions and advice on packing.

2. Receive A Fixed Price Quote

In the case of replacement batteries and screens my website will provide an instant fixed price quote before you deliver or send the MacBook.

In some other cases I may be able to provide a quote without inspecting the device.

In many cases, e.g. a dead MacBook, I will need to inspect the device before I can issue a fixed price quote.

3. Drop Off Or Mail In

Bring it to me or send it by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

If you drop it off in person you will receive a receipt indicating the Job Number.

If you are mailing it you will be emailed addressing and packing instructions including a Job Number.

You can track the Job on the website.

4. Inspection And Confirmation

I inspect the MacBook.

If the inspection confirms that any initial emailed quote was correct I start the repair.

If the inspection results in a new quote I contact you by email or phone and the repair waits for quote acceptance.

Particularly with liquid damage it can take up to 2 hours to fully inspect all parts of a device before I can give you a fixed price quote. It would be a disaster to give you a low fixed price quote for MacBook repair without a full inspection of all parts because not noticing a dead £400 screen thinking its just a small corrosion repair on the logic board can easily make a MacBook repair uneconomical. In this respect the inspection of liquid damaged devices is subject to a £60 fee if the quote is refused [to cover the time taken to get you a quote]. Free quotes are worth just that – nothing. Free quotes from other shops only take 5 minutes, don’t involve inspection and have to cover any eventuality so they are always big.

5. Repair

The work is completed and fully tested. If it can’t be repaired there is no charge. It has happened less than ten times in 1400 repairs. My dad was a degree qualified electronic engineer like myself. My mum dressed me in a small boiler suit and pushed me into the garage to help my dad when I was two. He kept my mum’s washing machine running for 40 years. My mum hated that machine. I’ll keep your MacBook running.

6. Collection Or Return Delivery

You will receive an SMS indicating when the repair is complete.

You can pay for the repair before or at collection. For mail in the MacBook will be posted by Royal Mail Special Delivery (next-day, signed for and insured).
