Component-Level Repairs

Apple don’t do component level repairs. If there is a fault on the logic board they quote to replace the entire board.

We are qualified electronic engineers who use microscopes, specialist test equipment, circuit diagrams and advanced diagnostic techniques to locate and repair faults among hundreds of microscopic components. Rather than replacing an entire logic board, we identify and replace only the failed components—such as integrated circuits, mosfets, inductors, diodes, capacitors and resistors—saving customers the expense of replacing the entire logic board.

Modular-Level Repairs

Cracked screen? Faulty keyboard? Poor battery? We’ll source and fit genuine new or carefully selected genuine used parts to restore your MacBook quickly — often from stock for the fastest turnaround.

Top-Level Support

Need your MacBook urgently? We can even loan you a MacBook to keep you going while yours is being repaired. Because we understand — your Mac isn’t just a computer, it’s how you get things done.

We are not a general computer repair shop – MacBooks are all we repair. Big difference!

A general computer repair shop will often say they fix all brands. They may thrive on straightforward modular part swaps like screens and batteries but they cannot specialise in all brands. Such generalists will often flounder with more complex faults resorting to saying things like “It can’t be fixed” when what they should say is “It can’t be fixed by us”. With logic-board repair, an inexperienced repairer can turn a repairable board into an unrepairable one — permanently.

UK Mac Repair are electronic engineers specializing in repairing MacBooks. We are heavily invested in skills, tools and equipment and an extensive parts inventory that most general repair shops simply don’t have.

From repairing faults at component level on a logic board to mending a broken spacebar, we can repair your MacBook at almost every level.

Here is why Apple Repair is always expensive and you often lose your data!

Apple’s repair process works by replacing one or more of fewer than a dozen assemblies.

A fault on a logic board results in Apple replacing that assembly and your data is lost because it resides on chips on that board.

Assemblies:

  1. Display £450 – £900
  2. Top case (inc. keyboard & mic./speakers) £300+
  3. Logic board £300 – £2200
  4. TouchId £80
  5. Trackpad £90+
  6. Battery £210 – £265

We approach the same problem differently.

A MacBook logic board contains nearly 1000 individual components. Rather than replacing the whole board, we use our skills in electronics to identify the failed component and replace only what is necessary.

The result will be a significantly lower repair cost while preserving your original hardware and most likely your data.
