The screen has failed if you see:
- Curved edges to illuminated areas
- Vertical or horizontal lines or bars
- An effect similar to stage lights at a theatre
- The picture is affected by screen angle
But perhaps not if:
- The screen is black or flickering – in this case it could be the backlight driver circuit on the logic board that has failed. This is common after a liquid spill or use in places with excessive moisture like bathrooms.
